Why convert this way?
PNG is lossless, which makes it heavier than it needs to be for photos and banners where perfect pixel accuracy doesn't matter. JPG and especially WebP give you most of the visual quality at a fraction of the file size.
How Fyleon does it
Fyleon re-encodes your PNG using in-browser WebAssembly image codecs, so you can compare the output before you ever upload it anywhere. For files under 400MB, nothing is uploaded anywhere; the file never leaves your computer. Larger files route through Fyleon's dedicated cloud pipeline, billed against your plan's own monthly quota before any one-time charge applies.
Step-by-step
- Open the Convert Image tool and sign in (or create a free account — it takes a few seconds).
- Drop your PNG file onto the upload area, or click to browse for it.
- Choose JPG or WebP as your target format.
- Download the converted, smaller file directly to your device.
A note on this conversion
PNG's transparency doesn't carry over to JPG (JPG has no alpha channel) — if your image relies on transparency, WebP is the better target since it supports it.
Files processed locally never touch Fyleon's servers, so a file with sensitive or confidential content never leaves your device.
