Why convert this way?
ODS is LibreOffice Calc's native spreadsheet format. If you're sending a file to someone who only has Microsoft Excel, converting to XLSX avoids any "this file can't be opened" friction.
How Fyleon does it
Fyleon reads the ODS file's cells, formulas, and formatting and rewrites them as XLSX, locally in your browser. For files under 400MB, nothing is uploaded anywhere; the file never leaves your computer. Larger files route through Fyleon's dedicated cloud pipeline, billed against your plan's own monthly quota before any one-time charge applies.
Step-by-step
- Open the Convert Spreadsheet tool and sign in (or create a free account — it takes a few seconds).
- Drop your .ods file onto the upload area, or click to browse for it.
- Confirm XLSX as your target format.
- Download the converted file directly to your device.
A note on this conversion
Most formulas and cell formatting map directly between ODS and XLSX since both follow similar spreadsheet conventions — complex custom functions are the main exception worth double-checking.
Files processed locally never touch Fyleon's servers, so a file with sensitive or confidential content never leaves your device.
